Codebahn

Independent and answering only to customers

No venture capital, no parent company. Codebahn is self-funded and answering to its customers. That is deliberate, and it is not changing.

What independent means

The roadmap comes from customers and from using the product. When those two inputs agree, we build. When they conflict, we talk to more customers. There is no third input.

No investor sets the direction. No acquirer is waiting to change the terms you signed up for. The discipline is doing what people want, refusing to bloat it, and being straight about the edges before you sign.

Why it matters for you

VC-funded products serve the growth target, then the customer. Priorities shift at Series B. Features get added for the next fundraising slide, not because anyone asked. Terms change after acquisition.

GitHub was independent, then Microsoft. The terms survived; the trajectory didn't. GitLab went public and the per-seat pricing climbed. The pattern repeats: grow, raise, monetize harder, pivot to enterprise.

Independent means the incentive is to keep you, not to convert you. Every month is a re-election. That pressure is the point.

The trade-off

We are a small team. Support is one business day, not instant. What we have: the people building Codebahn are the people answering your email. That doesn't change as we grow.
